No judgement policy

Dental anxiety can be severe enough to keep people away from dental clinics for longer than the patient’s health can take. We understand that this is an involuntary act and we will never judge the condition of your teeth or smile. Over the years we’ve come to realise that people are harsher on themselves than they need to be. Whatever the state of your oral health is, we can assure you that our dentists have seen worse cases, especially while in training to acquire their degrees.

Our only aim is to help you achieve that beautiful, healthy smile you desire with as minimal intervention as possible. So, if life has gotten in the way and circumstances didn’t allow you to take care of yourself, let us help.

How to prepare for a dentist appointment if you're a nervous dental patient?

While nervousness about a dental appointment is unlikely to go away just because we want it to, there are some things that you can do to help ease the anxiety. Here are our three tips that will help you tremendously.

/

1. Brush and floss before the appointment

Many people experience anxiety, thinking that the dentist will be able to smell bad breath and will judge them. While we can guarantee that this isn’t going to happen, you can help yourself by brushing your teeth very well before the appointment and using a mint right before you walk in. Brushing and flossing will also help remove any food particles from your teeth, and your dentist will be able to complete your check-up quicker.

2. Book an early appointment

The earlier in the morning you see the dentist, the less time between waking up and the actual visit you’ll have to discourage yourself. Make sure you go to bed early the evening before – lack of sleep has been known to increase anxiety. Plan your trip correctly so you can be on time and grab your favourite book or download your favourite movie on your phone to distract yourself on the way.

3. Grab a warm drink before the appointment

When we’re afraid, our organism sends the blood flow to our hands and feet, to help us in case we need to enter a fight or flight mode, leaving the core of our body colder. This is the reason we often tremble when we’re terrified. To encourage your body into restoring proper blood flow, get a warm drink just before your appointment and have it as hot as possible.
